This spring, Shangri-La The Shard, London invites guests to embrace the spirit of joie de vivre with the launch of its new St-Germain Afternoon Tea, celebrating the arrival of longer days, golden light and leisurely afternoons spent in wonderful company.

Launching on 17th March and running through November 2026, the seasonal collaboration with St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur captures the romance of spring in full bloom. Served 35 floors above the city at TĪNG, the experience pairs delicate pâtisserie and refined savouries with vibrant elderflower cocktails, designed for lingering conversations and unhurried indulgence high above London’s skyline.

Elderflower has enjoyed a remarkable modern resurgence in Britain over the past decade, propelled back into the spotlight after the lemon and elderflower wedding cake served at the 2011 wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton captured the nation’s imagination - transforming a traditional countryside flavour into one of the defining tastes of contemporary British spring and summer entertaining.

As the city emerges into spring, the menu reflects the freshness of the season - floral notes, bright citrus, ripe berries and soft herbal accents woven throughout each creation. It is an invitation to pause, raise a glass, and savour long afternoons that effortlessly drift into early evening.

Curated by Executive Pastry Chef Piero Sottile and his talented team, the afternoon tea balances British tradition with contemporary flair.

Freshly baked plain and raisin scones are served warm with strawberry jam and clotted cream, accompanied by Shangri-La’s extensive tea collection spanning black, green, white and oolong varieties.

The Cocktails: A Floral Toast to Spring
At the heart of the experience is a beautifully curated cocktail menu, designed to capture the essence of elderflower and elevate the ritual of afternoon tea into a sparkling social occasion.

Elderflower has enjoyed a renaissance within British cocktail culture, celebrated by bartenders for its ability to elevate rather than overpower - bringing a delicate floral lift, freshness and effortless sophistication to modern spritzes and seasonal serves.

Light, aromatic and effortlessly elegant, each cocktail is crafted for toasting the season - best enjoyed as sunlight pours through floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking London.

Guests may also pair the experience with Veuve Clicquot Rosé Champagne or Champagne Louis Roederer Collection 246 for an added flourish.

A dedicated vegan afternoon tea mirrors the floral elegance of the main menu, with creations including St-Germain Sunset Pavlova, Green Oasis (pandan, coconut, pineapple), and Strawberry Meadow vegan cheesecake.
The St-Germain Afternoon Tea is priced at £78 per person with tea and coffee, £88 per person including a St-Germain cocktail, mocktail or flute of Veuve Clicquot Rosé Champagne, and £109 per person with a flute of Champagne Louis Roederer Collection 246.
