Brown's Hotel - MayfairAlbemarle Street, Mayfair, London, W1S 4BP

Brown's Hotel has a fascinating history and has hosted many distinguished guests since it opened as London's first ever hotel in 1837. It is from here that Rudyard Kipling penned many of his novels and it is believed that The English Tea Room was the inspiration for Agatha Christie's 'At Bertram's Hotel'. To this day this glamorous, five-star establishment welcomes guests 'in-the-know'.

The English Tea Room serves one of the most famous Afternoon Teas in London and has again been awarded The Tea Guild special Awards of Excellence 2013 in recognition of their outstanding quality and consistently high standards in Afternoon Tea service. Previously it has also been voted The Tea Guild's 'Top London Afternoon Tea 2009'. The sophisticated and stylish interior is a clever mix of both tradition - thanks to the original wood paneling, fire places and Jacobean detailed plaster ceiling and contemporary style, with Paul Smith lighting, fashionable fabrics and original artworks.

Relax to the sounds from the Baby Grand Piano and indulge in a choice of 17 teas, including Brown's own blend, along with a selection of succulent finger sandwiches, an assortment of delicate pastries, fruit and plain scones with clotted cream and strawberry preserve, as well as a choice of freshly baked cakes from the trolley. Guests of The English Tea Room never leave hungry, as the Afternoon Tea is continuously replenished at no additional charge.

No matter what a guest's dietary requirements may be, from gluten free to nut allergies, the team of chefs at Brown's Hotel will ensure that everyone has the chance to enjoy their award-winning Afternoon Tea. 48 hours advanced notice is required to prepare these special teas.

Your table will be available for 90 minutes. A cancellation made with less than 48 hours notice, incurs a cancellation fee of £15 per guest.
